Last weekend

As you know I am addicted to cheese and I was desperated when I found out that it's super difficult to get it here. However after the long research on expats forums I found out that there are few shops where I can buy imported Gouda - I felt alive again - so directly Saturday morning I went to thoses places to check if my dream will come true and.... surprise surprise I got it but of course it came with a expat price :( so to be precise just for you to have a comparizon the price for a pack of cheese is more less the same as the price of hairdryer!!! :)

Being blonde in China is quite funny - On Sunday I had a long walk around the city and from time to time I have been stopped and asked to take a picture which I found normal as there are plenty of tourists in SHA (this is at least what I though), however due to the language barrier at the end I was realizing that they dont want me to take a picture of them but they want to have a picture with me!!! :) hehe

More about the food...

For the moment I’m TRYING to buy things which I know... however we are in china so... last time I got a chicken which at least look like a chicken but ended up being a tofu prepared and cut in a way we have it in Europe hehehe

Big surprise!

after spending 30 mins walking in a supermarkets I just saw this :) Polish land!!!

Chinese food...

Just a short description of the images: man with a huge cake, crabs, snakes, turtles and... frogs :)

And as my polish cigarettes are finished I had to find local ones here - unfortunately they only do have a TEA taste...

Arrival

So my flight from Germany quite long but during the night so I could sleep a bit – landing on time - the airport very big with many signs so no problems with finding the way out and no issues neither with the passport nor with visa control

I should feel comfortable with reaching the hotel from the airport as my company booked me a driver with a car however… a bit scary that he will have the card with my name written in Chinese J

My 1st hotel was very nice near to work I stayed there for a week and then I moved to another one also near the work.

Funny enough during my first day in the 2nd hotel as my room was still not ready i was directly upgraded to the suite with a balcony, living room kitchen etc... like a normal big studio and of course for the same price as for a 'normal room' – so just for you to know that some standards which we take for granted in EU do not apply here - for instance rooms with windows - this is not only the case for the rooms in the hotels but also for the flat sharing.
